NEW YORK (Reuters) - Suncor Energy said on Wednesday it has contained a leak near its Commerce City, Colorado refinery that was going into Sand Creek.
"Our team installed booms in the creek to contain the product. That was done yesterday," said Sneh Seetal, a Suncor spokeswoman in Calgary.
"Our focus is on clean-up at this point. We do not see more product leaking, but we haven't yet identified the source of the leak. We believe it migrated from the Suncor Energy refinery," she added.
Local media earlier reported federal environmental officials have been managing since Monday the spill of the as-yet-unidentified liquid, which threatened to run into the South Platte River.
