A Tennessee woman charged with smothering her newborn twins has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
Twenty-five-year-old Lindsey Lowe was formally charged Friday during her arraignment in Sumner County Criminal Court.
Lowe waived her right to appear in court. Her attorney, John Pellegrin, entered the plea on her behalf.
Lowe has told police she hid her pregnancy from everyone and smothered the twins as soon as they were born so that her parents wouldn't hear their cries.
