Troopers investigating a crash that pinned a North Carolina girl in wreckage for almost 2 days say her father was driving about 105 mph when his car ran off the road.
The car clipped trees and overturned into a drainage culvert. N.C. Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Jeff Gordon says 9-year-old Jordan Landon survived on Pop-Tarts and energy drinks. She is expected to fully recover.
The body of her father, 39-year-old Douglas Landon, was found in the smashed 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Gordon says the Landons were reported missing Friday night when they didn't return from a trip to a store near their home along the coast. A passerby discovered their vehicle Sunday afternoon. The posted speed limit was 55 mph.
