Magnitude 6.9 quake shakes buildings in Peru capital

LIMA (Reuters) - A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck southern Peru Friday, the USGS said.

The quake, which was centered 31 miles south of the coastal city Ica, shook buildings in Peru's capital Lima, according to Reuters witnesses. There was no immediate warning of a tsunami.
