A Massachusetts man who admitted killing his roommate in a drunken argument over a soccer game has been sentenced to at least 15 years in prison.
The Worcester (WUS'-tur) Telegram & Gazette reported Tuesday (http://bit.ly/vYzrGQ) 32-year-old Felix Garcia pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter in a deal with prosecutors.
Garcia had faced a murder charge in the October 2009 shooting of 26-year-old Juan Manuel Trejo Hernandez.
Prosecutors say Garcia was drunk when he argued with Hernandez over a referee's call as they watched the game on television at their Worcester apartment. They say Garcia shot Hernandez with a handgun when he tried to calm down Garcia.
Hernandez's brother, Miguel Trejo, said in a statement read in court by the judge nothing could alleviate his family's pain.
