CDC official charged in Ga. with molestation

An official with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been charged with child molestation and bestiality for what authorities say were sexual acts involving a 6-year-old boy.

Forty-four-year-old Kimberly Quinlan Lindsey was arrested on Sunday along with her live-in boyfriend, 42-year-old Thomas Joseph Westerman, who was charged with child molestation. They have both been released on bond.

CDC spokesman Tom Skinner said Lindsey is a deputy director within the Office of Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services at the Atlanta-based agency, while Westerman is a resource management specialist in the same office. Skinner declined further comment.

DeKalb County Police Lt. Pam Kunz said the investigation began after a medical professional contacted authorities with concerns. Kunz wouldn't discuss further details.

Messages seeking comment from Lindsey and Westerman were not returned.
