A pipe-like cylinder that caused the closure of several streets around the U.S. Capitol has been deemed safe.
U.S. Capitol Police say the object, initially considered suspicious, was found to be a sewer nozzle cleaner.
The object was loaded into a specialized truck operated by the agency's bomb squad and taken to an FBI facility in Quantico, Va., where it was identified.
The small metal cylinder with some caps on it was found on Pennsylvania Avenue around 7 a.m. Thursday.
Roads around the Capitol were closed for about three hours.
