Ore. comic who sold ads on funeral urns dies

An Oregon comedian with terminal cancer who sold advertising space on urns to pay for his funeral costs has died.

Aaron Jamison of Springfield battled colon cancer for more than two years. His wife, Kristin Jamison, says he died Sunday in Springfield.

The 38-year-old Aaron Jamison started selling ads after he was diagnosed in February 2009 and told he didn't have long to live.

Kristin Jamison told The Register Guard ( http://bit.ly/n5LGXH) he sold 14 ads to businesses and groups for $100 each. She says the money will go to help pay medical bills. The Portland branch of the Neptune Society offered to cover his cremation costs.

Aaron Jamison hand-painted three urns for his ashes _ for his wife, parents and best friend. One of the ads was sold to the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. It says, "I've kicked the bucket - Have You? Boycott KFC."
