New York City's billionaire mayor is a 21st century tycoon but his decorator's website showed him living more like a 19th century baron.
The New York Times reports ( http://nyti.ms/p13GrW) that Mayor Michael Bloomberg's town houses in New York and London are filled with original works of art and exquisite furniture like a $1 million Chippendale couch.
An antiques dealer tells the Times one painting appears to be by Joshua Reynolds or Thomas Gainsborough and might be worth $450,000.
The Times says the properties were on the website of Bloomberg's longtime decorator Jamie Drake until Monday. The palatial homes were not identified on the site as belonging to Bloomberg.
Bloomberg's spokesman did not comment.
Bloomberg, founder of the financial news and information company, is worth an estimated $18.1 billion.
