A commercial flight from Las Vegas to Reno was delayed temporarily while waiting for a delivery of blood following a plane crash at a Reno air race.
Southwest Flight 2990 was delayed a short time late Friday after the pilot told passengers he was waiting for an emergency blood supply intended for victims of the crash.
Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval noted at a news conference at Reno-Stead Airport that there was a call for blood donations in the wake of Friday's crash, and encouraged people to donate.
The wreck at the National Championship Air Races left three people dead, including the pilot, and injured more than 50 spectators.
