A pharmaceuticals multimillionaire charged with killing her autistic 8-year-old son in a New York City luxury hotel is taking her fight for bail to a new court.
Gigi Jordan's lawyers filed a petition Monday asking a civil court to grant a $6 million bail and house arrest package. A criminal court judge denied the proposal last month.
Jordan's petition says the criminal court didn't give proper consideration to her security proposals including armed guards and electronic monitoring.
Prosecutors have opposed Jordan's release. They and city officials won't comment on the petition. For legal reasons, the petition is directed at city jail officials.
Jordan says she felt justified in killing her son and tried to kill herself in February 2010 to save them both from people she feared were after them.
