The British Consulate in Los Angeles says one of two military cadets critically injured in a skydiving jump in Southern California has died.
Consulate communications officer Katharine Keith said Wednesday the cadet died Monday at a hospital in Riverside County.
She says the other cadet remains hospitalized but his condition has been upgraded to serious and his family is with him.
Keith would not release the name of either man and says the cause of the Aug. 26 accident is still under investigation.
She says both men were UK officer cadets, a program similar to the ROTC in the United States, and they were doing adventure training exercises at the Lake Elsinore Parachute Center.
Investigators say the men collided during their descent, after jumping from the plane.
