A tree fell on a Pennsylvania home as severe thunderstorms swept through, killing a 10-year-old girl in bed.
Somerset County Coroner Wallace Miller tells The Associated Press that state police are investigating but the death is considered "weather-related." He identified the girl as Kayla Wolk.
Police say she was killed just before 7 a.m. Thursday in her Somerset Township home, about 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Her parents and at least one sibling were also home but weren't harmed. They were unable to help the girl because the tree was too large to move.
The storms were part of a front sweeping east from the Midwest.
The girl's death comes six days after four people were killed in flash flooding caused by severe storms in Pittsburgh.
