Jane Goodall's nonprofit organization is suing an organic baby food company, claiming it failed to pay up after the primate expert agreed to market a vegetarian product called Janey Baby.
The New York Post (http://nyp.st/q9FGi9) reports that the Jane Goodall Institute for Wildlife Research, Education and Conservation filed the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court against Sprout Foods, which was co-founded by chef Tyler Florence of the Food Network.
The institute claims Sprout owes it $720,000.
Sprout says the contract was made by its former CEO and says the firm was in discussions with the institute about a revised relationship that would benefit both parties.
Institute attorney Eleanor Lackman declined to comment.
The suit says the institute canceled the contract with Sprout on July 25.
