Volunteers on President Barack Obama's re-election campaign have welcomed an unexpected lunch guest: Obama himself.
The White House says the volunteers were selected based on essays they wrote about organizing. Obama got his start in politics by working as a community organizer in his Chicago hometown.
The president joined the group at Ted's Bulletin, a new Capitol Hill restaurant that serves classic American food, including burgers and shakes.
Last week, Obama treated a group of senior aides who were involved in negotiations over the government's finances to burgers and shakes at a different Capitol Hill eatery.
