The following recall has been announced:



DETAILS: Disney-branded Pogo Sticks, distributed by Bravo Sports of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., and sold by Burlington Coat Factory, Kmart,, Target and Toys R Us between February 2009 and June 2011. The toys were manufactured in China.

WHY: The bottom rubber tip attached to the stick's frame can wear out prematurely and potentially cause the user to fall. In addition, the caps on the handlebars come off and expose sharp edges, which pose a laceration hazard.

INCIDENTS: There have been 82 reports of the bottom tip of the Pogo Stick wearing out, including five injuries. A 9-year-old girl fractured her skull and chipped a tooth; another 9-year-old girl cut her lip and chin and needed stitches. Others suffered scrapes, hits to the head and pushed-in teeth.
