Man held in 1957 slaying waives extradition from Seattle

SEATTLE (Reuters) - A Seattle man accused of the 1957 disappearance and death of a 7-year-old girl on Wednesday waived extradition to Illinois to face a murder charge.

Jack McCullough, a 71-year-old former police officer in Washington state, could be transported to Illinois immediately, said his attorney Cailin Daly.

McCullough was arrested on June 29 in Seattle and charged in Washington state court with being a fugitive from justice. He was held in King County Jail in lieu of $3 million bail.
