Calif. congresswoman marries retired Army colonel

U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez has married a retired Army colonel during a private ceremony in Southern California.

The Democrat exchanged wedding vows with retired Army Col. Jack Einwechter on Saturday at an undisclosed private Santa Ana residence. The ceremony was attended by family and friends and was officiated by federal Judge David O. Carter, a former Marine officer appointed to the federal bench by President Bill Clinton.

It is the second marriage for the 51-year-old Sanchez as well as for Einwechter.

Sanchez's 47th Congressional District in Orange County includes Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Fullerton and Anaheim.

Einwechter, who spent 21 years as an Army attorney and intelligence officer, works for the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLC.
