A Nevada high school senior has been ordered to stand trial on murder and kidnapping charges in the killing of a popular female classmate.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports Justice of the Peace Al Kacin ruled Thursday there was sufficient evidence to try 19-year-old Toni Fratto in the death of 16-year-old Micaela "Mickey" Costanzo.
Costanzo was last seen leaving her West Wendover school after track practice March 3.
Fratto's boyfriend, 18-year-old Kody Lee Patten, also is charged in the girl's death. His preliminary hearing is set to begin Aug. 2.
Patten's father, Kip Patten, testified Thursday that Fratto confessed to him on April 16 about her role in the murder. He says Fratto told him she hit Costanzo with a shovel and helped stab the girl in the desert west of West Wendover, where her body was buried.
