Authorities say 21 people were injured when a charter bus overturned on a Texas interstate after the driver swerved off the road and overcorrected, spinning the bus across three lanes of traffic.
San Marcos police Chief Howard Williams says none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. A 4-year-old girl broke her leg and several others passengers were airlifted to hospitals with head injuries.
The crash happened just after 4 a.m. and shut down northbound Interstate 35 for several hours between Austin and San Antonio. Investigators hadn't yet determined what caused the driver to veer off the road.
The bus is owned by Dallas-based Mares Bus Lines Inc. Owner Alberto Mares tells the Dallas television station WFAA that the driver had worked for the company for several years without incident.
