Wife seeks photo ban at Venezuelan ex-prez's tomb

The estranged wife of former Venezuelan President Carlos Andres Perez wants a ban on photos and video at his temporary entombment ceremony this week in Miami.

Attorneys for Blanca Rodriguez de Perez want a judge to order the ban at a hearing Wednesday. They also want extra security on hand. The judge already barred news media from the entombment.

Perez's remains will be temporarily placed in a crypt Thursday amid a family legal fight over his final resting place.

Trial is scheduled for August on whether Perez's body goes back to Venezuela or stays in the U.S. His longtime companion says Perez would never return as long as political foe Hugo Chavez was president.

Perez died Dec. 25 at age 88. He was Venezuela's president from 1974-79 and 1989-93.
