NEW YORK (Reuters) - A group of employees at a Costco store on Long Island will collect a $201.9 million prize on Thursday after winning the massive Powerball lottery earlier this month.
The state lottery will present the 20 employees the check outside the Costco where they work, lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman said on Wednesday.
The winning ticket for the June 1 drawing was purchased at the Maulik and Chandni stationery store in Lindhurst, New York, on Long Island.
Store owner Parul Patel said the buzz about the workers who won the jackpot at her store has boosted business.
"We're seeing a lot of new faces coming into the shop now that they won," she said.
Patel described her business as a "lucky store." Last month, a customer came in and won a partial lotto prize of $96,000, and in 2006 a man came into the shop and won a $1 million lotto prize, Patel said.
