DUBAI (Reuters) - Wounded Yemen President Ali Abdullah Saleh has arrived in Saudi Arabia, Saudi sources said on Sunday, for treatment of injuries sustained in a rocket attack on his presidential palace on Friday.
"He just landed in Saudi Arabia," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity. He said Saleh had flown into Riyadh, the kingdom's capital.
Saleh, whose Saudi medical evacuation plane was met by a senior Saudi official, walked off the aircraft but had visible injuries on his neck, head and face, a second source told Reuters.
A second Yemeni aircraft which accompanied Saleh had about 35 people on board, the second source said, adding a third plane is expected to arrive shortly.
Al Jazeera television said Saleh had been transferred to a military hospital after landing at King Khalid Air Base.
