Egypt court sentences former finance minister to 30 years jail

CAIRO (Reuters) - An Egyptian court convicted former finance minister Youssef Boutros-Ghali in absentia on Saturday and sentenced him to 30 years in prison for squandering public funds and abuse of other funds, a court source said.

The court also ordered him to return 30 million Egyptian pounds ($5.05 million) and to pay an additional 30 million pounds in fines, the source said.
