Court set for 2 linked to Utah immigrant list

Officials say two women accused of inappropriately accessing the personal information of 1,300 purported illegal immigrants are scheduled to appear in court.

The Utah Attorney General's Office says in a statement issued late Friday night that Leah Carson will appear Monday in Midvale Justice Court at 10 a.m. and Teresa Bassett will appear the same day in 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City at 1:30 p.m.

Scott Troxel of the attorney general's office says an investigation was launched in July 2010 after the list of names was anonymously sent to law enforcement and local media, demanding that those on it be deported.

Troxel's statement didn't disclose the purpose of Monday's hearings but KSL-TV quoted him as saying the women will be formally charged.
