Ohio teen guilty in brother's mall shooting death

An Ohio teen has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for fatally shooting his brother at a shopping center.

The Franklin County prosecutor's office says 17-year-old Andrew Kelley also pleaded guilty Tuesday to an unrelated count of robbery. A judge accepted the pleas and sentenced Kelley to 12 years in prison.

Authorities say Kelley and his brother Andrake were with friends at the suburban Columbus shopping center Feb. 12 and got into a dispute with other teens.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that prosecutors say Kelley admitted firing a small-caliber handgun into the air and didn't realize he struck his brother in the head.

Andrew Kelley was initially charged as a juvenile with murder. He agreed to have the case transferred to adult court in the plea deal.
