The Obama administration is making Iranian students eligible to enter the U.S. for up to two years in an effort to improve relations between Americans and Iranians.
Previously, Iranian students and individuals enrolled in academic or professional exchange programs could only obtain a single-entry visa good for up to three months. Now they can enter and leave the U.S. multiple times and stay for up to two years.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton made the announcement Friday in YouTube messages in English and Farsi.
Clinton says the U.S. wants to show young Iranians what is great about America while helping them bring change to their own country.
