A May 9 story about flavored milk stated the position of the School Nutrition Association, American Dietetic Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Medical Association and the American Heart Association as saying the nutritional value of low-fat or skim milk outweighs the harm of added sugar in flavored milk. The story should have specified that SNA, ADA, AAP and NMA have affiliations with the National Dairy Council, the Milk Processors Education Program or both. The organizations said their positions were formed independent of any affiliation to dairy industry interests. The AHA is not affiliated with any dairy industry group.
