Nearly six weeks of testimony is coming to a close in the trial of two New York City police officers charged with the rape of a woman they were summoned to help.
Summations are expected as soon as Thursday. Officers Kenneth Moreno and Franklin Mata both face charges including rape in the December 2008 incident. Prosecutors say Moreno raped the woman while Mata served as a lookout.
They'd been called to help her get home from a taxi after a drunken night out. She says she passed out and awoke to being raped in her bed.
Moreno says she flirted with him and he lay alongside her in her bed, but they didn't have sex.
Mata says he was napping in the living room while they were in the bedroom.
