The cries of a man trapped in a burning Massachusetts house have been played at a pre-trial hearing for a man accused of setting the fatal fire.
Anthony Baye (bay) is charged with murder in the December 2009 deaths of 81-year-old Paul Yeski and 39-year-old Paul Yeski Jr.
Elaine Yeski wept at Tuesday's hearing as she listened to her son, Paul Yeski Jr., tell a dispatcher he couldn't escape from the home in Northampton, 100 miles west of Boston.
The hearing was held to consider motions by Baye's attorneys, who argue police had no probable cause to stop his car the night of the fire. They also say Baye was denied the right to have a lawyer present at a police interview.
Prosecutors say Baye voluntarily admitted setting a string of fires including the fatal one.
