The defense for a Cleveland man charged with killing 11 women wants more time to prepare for his trial, while the prosecution says the trial should begin as scheduled next month.
The defense filed a motion Monday seeking a delay in the June 6 trial of 51-year-old Anthony Sowell (SOH'-wehl). He has pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution says in response that the defense has had enough time to prepare for the case since Sowell's indictment on Dec. 1, 2009.
The judge has a meeting with attorneys planned for Tuesday to address unresolved issues.
The remains of the women were found in and around Sowell's house in 2009.
