Authorities say a metro Atlanta bus driver was arrested after a passenger who uses a walker was dragged on the pavement when the front door closed on her arm.
Police say 62-year-old Lettie Robinson told them she got off the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority bus Sunday night and reached inside for her purse when the door closed on her arm.
They said Robinson was dragged 63 feet and sustained a broken arm and cuts to her head and legs.
At least one witness drove a vehicle in front of the bus in an attempt to block it. Police said the driver then opened the door and drove around Robinson.
The driver, 52-year-old Belinda McMillian, faces a charge of reckless conduct and was placed on administrative leave while MARTA investigates.
