Rod Blagojevich's former chief of staff will testify for a second day at the impeached Illinois governor's political corruption retrial.
John Harris is to continue testifying Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Harris described for jurors how he and Blagojevich discussed ways the governor could leverage the appointment of President Barack Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat into campaign cash or a top job.
Prosecutors played secret FBI recordings of Blagojevich discussing how he could personally benefit from the appointment. The recordings are at the heart of the government's evidence on nearly all the 20 counts Blagojevich faces.
Harris also testified at Blagojevich's first trial, but his testimony came weeks into the action. By moving him up, prosecutors are laying out the charges involving the Senate seat much earlier. Blagojevich has denied any wrongdoing.
