Police: Drunk NY man drove motorcycle 130+ mph

A 20-year-old man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after police say he drove his motorcycle more than 130 mph trying to elude police chasing him in western New York.

Genesee County Sheriff Gary Maha (MAY'-hah) says Greg Smith of Oakfield didn't pull over for a deputy who tried to stop him Thursday morning on Route 63 in Oakfield, midway between Rochester and Buffalo.

Maha says Smith sped through Oakfield, Batavia and back into Oakfield, where he crashed into another vehicle at an intersection.

The sheriff says Smith fled on foot into a cornfield where he was arrested.

Smith is charged with DWI, reckless driving, speeding and numerous other traffic violations.

He's being held in jail on $2,500 bail. Maha says he didn't know if Smith had a lawyer.
