A North Carolina judge is hearing from attorneys for media companies that want broader disclosure in a lawsuit over a sex tape described as involving former presidential candidate John Edwards.
On Friday, the judge in Raleigh listened to lawyers on issues in the lawsuit Edwards' mistress Rielle (REE'-el) Hunter filed against former campaign aide Andrew Young.
Media attorney Nathan Siegel says Hunter and Young are trying to fight their court battle with far more privacy than the average person is allowed. Siegel says many motions have been filed under seal. He says it's not an ordinary case and is really about the demise of a presidential campaign.
Media outlets including The Associated Press aren't seeking access to the video but want details of Edwards' deposition in the case.
