Critics of a retired Army psychologist accused of observing abusive interrogations of military detainees in Guantanamo and doing nothing to stop them want a court to force an investigation.
Four Ohioans have asked a Franklin County judge to order the Ohio Psychology Board to take action against Larry James or investigate whether to proceed to formal action.
Last week's request follows the board's decision in January not to pursue disciplinary action against James, dean of professional psychology at Wright State University in Dayton.
That ruling was the third time in three years that boards in Ohio and Louisiana decided not to take action against James.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that the new request contends the board's decision "shows no indication of being based in evidence or law."
