TUNIS (Reuters) - Libyan Foreign Minister Abdelati Obeidi arrived in Tunisia on Wednesday on his way to Cyprus, Tunisia's state TAP news agency said.
It gave no details on why Obeidi was traveling to Cyprus. His promotion to the foreign minister's post was announced on April 5 after his predecessor Moussa Koussa defected and flew to Britain.
Obeidi earlier this month ended a foreign tour to Greece, Malta and Turkey to set out the Libyan government position.
TAP, quoting its correspondent, said Obeidi traveled through the main transit point of Ras Jdir on the Tunisian-Libyan border and continued northwest to Djerba airport.
