A judge in Las Vegas has denied bail to a husband and wife accused of performing a backroom buttocks enhancement surgery on a 42-year-old woman who later died.
Authorities say 55-year-old Ruben Dario Matallana-Galvas and 47-year-old Carmen Olfidia Torres-Sanchez were arrested last week while trying to board a flight to their native Colombia.
Judge William Jansen set a preliminary hearing for May 17 and denied bail Wednesday. He says the airport arrest shows the pair is a flight risk.
