CFTC, FTC to share energy market probes info

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two U.S. government agencies on Tuesday agreed to share nonpublic information on investigations on wrongdoing in the energy markets, including probes on crude oil and gasoline.

The agreement was reached between the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Federal Trade Commission.

"With gasoline prices on the rise, we are committed to doing all we can to ensure that petroleum markets are competitive," said FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz.
