A Massachusetts woman accused of withholding cancer treatment from her autistic son is back on the stand in her attempted murder trial.
Kristen LaBrie resumed her testimony Friday in Lawrence Superior Court.
The 38-year-old Salem woman testified for about 30 minutes Thursday, describing her early years with a child stricken from birth with allergies and sickness.
Prosecutors allege LaBrie denied chemotherapy medications to her son, Jeremy Fraser, for at least five months after he was diagnosed with a treatable form of cancer in 2006. The boy died in March 2009 at age 9.
LaBrie's attorney says she was worn down by caring for Jeremy, worried about the drugs' side effects and made a tragic _ not criminal _ mistake in stopping his medication.
