Federal, state and local authorities are investigating the cause of a water tank burst that killed two workers in central Florida.
The Tampa Tribune reports that investigators from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Highland County Sheriff's Office were at the scene Friday of the industrial accident the day before.
Officials identified the victims as Jon Martinez and Jason Steele, both of whom worked for United Fire Protection in St. Petersburg.
The workers were killed when a 300,000-gallon water tank burst round 2 p.m. Thursday and caused a nearby concrete building, where the men were fixing a pump, to collapse.
The accident came two days after the wall of a Gatlinburg, Tenn. wastewater treatment plant collapsed, killing two workers.
