Denver police get help in search for missing woman

Denver police are stepping up their investigation into the disappearance of a 19-year-old woman who was last seen nearly a week ago at a downtown nightclub.

Police spokesman Matt Murray said Thursday the disappearance of Kenia Monge (mon-hey') of Aurora isn't a standard missing-person case. He wouldn't give details, saying the investigation is continuing.

He says the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and experts from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are helping with the investigation.

Monge went to the 24K Lounge March 31. Police have information that Monge was last seen at a gas station about two miles away at 3 a.m. April 1.

She is described as 4 feet 11 inches and 115 pounds. She was wearing a black skirt, black jacket and red high-heeled shoes.
