Prosecutors are calling a rebuttal witness as the federal trial of an elderly ex-CIA agent from Cuba nears conclusion.
Anti-communist militant Luis Posada Carriles (loo-EES' poh-SAH'-dah kah-REE'-lays) faces perjury, obstruction and immigration fraud charges.
He sneaked into the U.S. in 2005. Prosecutors allege he lied during citizenship hearings in El Paso, Texas, about how he reached the country. They also charge that the 83-year-old Posada failed to acknowledge his alleged role in 1997 bombings at Cuban tourist sites that killed an Italian visitor.
The defense has rested, but prosecutors are calling at least one rebuttal witness Monday. Closing arguments should follow.
Posada is Public Enemy No. 1 in Cuba.
