It's usually hot in Phoenix _ but not so early in the year.
The National Weather Service says Friday's high was 100 degrees in the city, marking the second-earliest date on record it hit the triple-digit mark.
The earliest 100-degree day was March 26, 1988.
Friday's high also broke a record for April 1. The previous record for Phoenix on that date was 96 degrees in 1966.
Meteorologists say a slight cooling trend should hit Phoenix this weekend with highs in the mid-90s Saturday and mid-80s on Sunday.
The hot weather came as a snowstorm walloped New England.
