City records show that for more than six months D.C. Council member Marion Barry has been driving a silver Jaguar that has "inactive" tags and isn't registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
According to documents obtained by The Washington Post through a records request, the license plate on Barry's car belonged to the BMW he had been driving before he sold it. Though the plate now appears on his Jaguar, the new car hasn't been registered with the DMV.
Through a representative, Barry said the dealership he bought the Jaguar from had misplaced the car's title and is working on providing one. The representative says that when the former D.C. mayor gets the title, he'll get the car registered.
