NEW YORK, March 28 (Reuters) - The strong trough and cold weather pattern across the northern half of the East during the next few days will weaken later this week and weekend in favor of more of a west to east flow pattern across the country, Meteorlogix said on Monday.

In the Northeast, temperatures are expected to average 7-10 F below normal Monday, 5-9 F below normal Tuesday, 2-5 F below normal Wednesday, 0-3 F below normal Thursday, and 1-3 F below normal Friday, forecasters said.

Dry weather continues in the Plains region and there is no relief in sight for at least the next 10 days.

Cold and wet weather dominate in the Midwest and even wetter weather is expected over the next week to 10-days.
