2 people die in Wisconsin plane crash

The Federal Aviation Administration says two people died when a single-engine plane crashed in south central Wisconsin.

FAA spokesman Elizabeth Isham (EYE'-sham) Cory says the Cessna 150 crashed about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, some 15 miles southwest of Baraboo.

The Sauk County Sheriff's Department says law enforcement officers found the wreckage in a rural wooded area at 11 p.m. after searching for hours in foggy conditions.

Cory says the aircraft took off from an airport in Lake in the Hills, Ill., earlier in the day. Its destination was not known. She says the plane was using visual flight rules, so it wasn't in contact with an air tower when it went down.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
