Father of Yale killer: My son is remorseful

The father of a man who pleaded guilty to killing a Yale University graduate student says his son has repeatedly expressed remorse and wept uncontrollably over the crime.

Raymond Clark Jr. says he's proud of his son, Raymond Clark III, for taking responsibility for his actions and pleading guilty in the 2009 slaying of Annie Le (LAY). Clark's father said outside the New Haven courthouse Thursday that his son has told him he's "tortured by the reality that he caused the death."

The plea calls for a 44-year sentence.

An attorney for Le's family, Joe Tacopino, says they are satisfied. He says the family had suspected a sexual motive for the attack. He says Le's mother did not attend the hearing because it would be too painful.
