Fire marshals have arrested a man on charges that he set a fire in a New York City apartment building that injured 31 people, including eight firefighters.
The fire department said Chiu Tsang (choo sang) was arrested Monday on charges of arson.
Officials say he set the blaze in the first floor entranceway. They say his motive was unclear, and he doesn't live in the building.
A phone listing at his address was unavailable, and it was not clear if he had an attorney.
The blaze at the four-story Brooklyn building broke out around 5 a.m. Sunday and was brought under control about 2 1/2 hours later.
Four civilians suffered life-threatening injuries in the fire.
