A nonprofit group that provides help to military survivors is asking for videos, messages and photos from the public showing support to these families. The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors is displaying them on a new Web site. The site is called Give a Thousand Thanks. The collected items will also be posted on the walls at a weekend seminar for the families over Memorial Day weekend in Washington.
More than 5,900 troops have died in support of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
